ANOTHER UPDATE!
According to the official Alice website, which is straight from the typing hands of Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, an excerpt for Intensely Alice should be released within the next few weeks. While we wait for the excerpt to come, I have found an official description of the book from the publisher’s website:
“In one single instant, everything can change….
Wouldn’t it be great to go back to the time before Pamela got pregnant, before Patrick left for the University of Chicago, before anyone was making any big decisions about sex or college or life in general? Wouldn’t it be great to get the whole gang together again, just once? But what it takes for this to happen will change Alice (and the whole gang) forever.
Full of life — the good, the bad, and the heartbreaking — the latest Alice book reminds us all just how much can change in an instant.”
It seems as though my beloved Alice and her friends are growing up so fast. All I can say is I cannot wait until June 2, 2009 (release date).

These weigh in Tuesdays come up so quickly on me. I thought I was just on the scale. Well, at least the step on the scale today has made me happy. I am glad to say that since since I first started this whole work out/lose weight thing, I have made the most week-to-week progress today!

I once was obsessed with my hair. Every strand had to be cut to perfection and every strand had to be in perfect place. Then I started college and 8am classes. I chose extra minutes of sleep over style in the mornings. Although my hair was shiny and worthy enough to be in shampoo commercials, it took too much effort to do something other than tie it up into a ponytail. Well, college is over and it is time for a change. I want a haircut that will be a style unto itself (if that makes any sense). I want to be able to wake up in the mornings, brush my hair really quick, and have my haircut be a style. After weeks of trying finding a haircut that will do this for me and months of trying semi-different hairstyles (layers, side-swept bangs, shorter hair), I think I found the haircut. I have to grow my hair a little longer to give it the full effect and before I can cut the layers, but I can start with getting myself some bangs.
The Inspiration

Rory Gilmore/Alexis Bledel Season 7
I love my bangs. I can brush it all in front of my face to give it a chic edge. If I don’t want the full on look, I can brush my bangs like Rory/Alexis where some of my bangs have an off-the-center part. If I feel uncomfortable with bangs, I can still sweep it to the side for side-swept bangs. By far, the best thing I like about my newly cut bangs is that I don’t have to style my hair because it is a style already!

*ALERT*ALERT*ALERT*
I’ve been sitting here since Almost Alice came out last year wondering what Intensely Alice would be about. No clues from Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, no clues on Alice’s website, no clues from the publishers, just simply no clues at all. Today, I have something. Not major plot lines or excerpts, but an “About the Book” from Borders. Here it is:
“Description: Full of life–the good, the bad, and the heartbreaking–Naylor’s latest Alice book reminds readers just how much can change in an instant, as Alice and her friends reunite for a funeral.”
As I read this very short line that described the upcoming Alice book, a million questions came to mind: What changes in an instant? Does it involve Lester or Ben? Who’s funeral? Does Molly die? What’s the good? Do Alice and Patrick get back together? Doesn’t Patrick start school already? The bad? Is this included in the heartbreaking? Oh no, do Alice and Patrick finally put a kaput their relationship? Why would Alice and her friends reunite? Have they been apart? Do they all do separate things during the summer? What else happens? I want to read this book NOW!
Drop a comment and let me know what you think.

I exercise and exercise and exercise yet still no additional weight loss. What is going on here? I thought the deal was I would sweat off my extra pounds. Apparently, my body did not get the memo. This leaves me in a difficult situation in that I now must think of what else there is I can do to meet my goal. What else can I do in addition to exercising to lose the fat? There must be something out there that will help do the trick.
Eating Healthy. In addition to the exercise, I have read that it is important to maintain a healthy diet or else exercise will not have a major effect. I do not mean starving myself or upchucking what I ate into the toilet. Rather, instead of reaching for and consuming large quantities of fatty, unhealthy foods, I need to eat the “good” kinds of foods. This includes, but is not limited to, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and the like. I do not have to avoid the “bad” foods completely, but I need to eat it in moderation. For example, if I am craving chips or chocolate or cookies, it is okay. I can have a bite of it. I just cannot have multiple bites of it. So, along with the exercise, I am going to modify my current eating habits. I am not going on a diet, but I am going to make healthier choices. I just hope I can avoid the temptations and keep this going.
