I was tempted to buy this Kimchi Blue Bow Sandal when I first saw it online on sale for $19.99 during this past Memorial Day Weekend. I went as far as printing out the picture and bringing it in store to find the sandals, which I did. I took it a step further by trying on the sandals and getting excited over the prospect of buying them. Pushing me even more towards the cash register were the positive online reviews from the padded cushioning to the style to the wearability. The only thing stopping me from purchasing these sandals was the price and the fact that I had a pair of Nine West sandals that looked vaguely similar. (Both pairs have no back strap and have black straps though the Nine West pair resembles fancy flip flops and this Kimchi blue pair do not.) That day, I decided not to go for the Kimchi Blue Bow Sandal because I knew I could find sandals that were cheaper and different from my Nine West sandals.

Well, this past week, I caved and I bought these sandals. The deal breaker for me was the price online dropped even further to $9.99 even though it was still originally marked at $28.00 in store. It might have been on sale for $19.00, but I still got the price adjustment for the online price. Now, I have another great pair of black sandals to wear. (I also believe it was fate that wanted me to buy these sandals. How else could you explain the price drop?)

I wanted a classy looking purse that would not cost me a fortune, a purse that if something were to happen to it I would not feel as though I lost half of my life’s savings. Solution? The Deena and Ozzy Jersey Quilted Bag from Urban Outfitters. I stumbled across this bag while perusing their site online in order to prepare for my shopping trip to UO at Santana Row the next day. My first thought when I saw this bag was I love the white version of it (it also comes in black or gray). It’s classic, it reminds me of Chanel, and it was on sale online for $14.99! In store, A was able to find the bag, but it was only on sale for $19.99. I got it price adjusted to the online price and now the bag sits in my room waiting to be used.

The reviews online are positive and this bag earned 4 out of 5 stars. The only downside I read about is how the bag seems to rub against you when you wear it and, as a result, it picks up lint. Other than that, this bag looks exactly how it does online. White. Classic. Perfect. Although it appears small and compact, I can actually squeeze all my necessities into it (wallet, keys, cell phone, chapstick, etc.) with ease though I would not suggest over stuffing it. The turn lock to open the bag is a teeny bit difficult to maneuver at first, but once I was able to figure things out it was easy to open.

I fell in love with the Kimchi Blue Macrame Sandal when I first saw it online at UrbanOutfitters.com. Maybe it was the arrangement of the straps on the sandal. Maybe it was the style of the sandal. Maybe it was because it was a Kimchi Blue sandal. Either way, it was love at first sight. Sadly, this love story was not meant to be even though the sandals were on sale online for $9.99 ($19.00 in store/*$9.99 price adjustment, $34.00 originally). When I went in store to try on these sandals, I found myself struggling to get my foot past those damn straps that I had previously adored. (By the way, my feet are not wide so do not think that that was the cause of my struggle.) After manually moving each strap into place over my feet, I felt as though the straps were suffocating my feet though I must say my feet did look quite fabulous in the sandals. There are times when I will take style over comfort, but this was not one of those times. Do not believe the reviews online as they are probably skewed. (There were only five reviews.) Even for $9.99, the pain my feet felt for those couple of seconds when I managed to put on the sandals was not worth it. Do not even think about walking in these sandals. I strongly advise getting a different pair of sandals.

Contrary to the “ONLINE ONLY” statement on UrbanOutfitters.com, the Ecote Slingback Sandal is available in store. In fact, there were a lot available in store. (As a side note, this has happened before where supposed “Online Only” items are available in store so make sure you check before ordering online since shipping is a major deal killer.) Anyhow, I have not had any trouble with these sandals. They fit perfectly and the straps are not too tight. My only complaint would be the slingback part of the sandal can fall off. It does not happen too often; it just depends on how tight the strap is adjusted. I am not sure why the Ecote Slingback Sandal received poor reviews, but my guess is people who ordered it online did not choose their size correctly. (This is why I always try on sandals in store if I want to buy them online.) Either that, or they viciously abused their sandals. The quality of the sandal is okay though I must say that these sandals are not meant to be worn for hiking or rough activities. (I will be sure to report if I get any straps breaking off or if the sandal starts to fall apart.)

I got mine in Brown Croc because you can see the design on the strap clearer than in Black Croc. I had it price adjusted from the in store price of $38.00 (original price) to the online sale price of $9.99.

What a score (for something from Urban Outfitters)!  Although some of the reviews for the Ecote Woven Sandal were on negative side (mainly “not the best quality”), I am quite happy with this buy.  I admit the sole of the sandal is not the best cushiony material to ever exist, but the prettiness of these sandals from the many (but not too many) straps makes it worth it (or at least for me it does).  Its a sandal with a stylish twist.  Ever since summer began, I have been on the hunt for some cute inexpensive sandals with some sort of sling back.  I wanted something more than just my Havianas to wear when I did not want to wear shoes or flats.  I basically wanted something a bit more dressy that was airy between the toes.  When A found these sandals in the sale pile, I was ecstatic.  Although it was priced at $19.00 on sale in store, I remembered seeing it online for $9.99.  With a quick “I think I saw this cheaper online…can I have it for that price?” to the cashier, I walked out of Urban Outfitters with $9.99 sandals that were originally $28.00.  Woohoo!

Santana Row is your typical upscale shopping area with high end shops and eateries. It reminded me of a mix between South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island minus dogs dressed in clothes and Botoxed women (or maybe it was too early in the morning). I did not bother to go into Gucci or BCBGMAXAZRIA, which are out of my current price range, but I did love love love their Urban Outfitters and The Container Store (first time visit!). From UO, I got a black Silence and Noise dress, a cute pair of loafers/flats, Ecote sandals, and a Deena and Ozzy purse. From The Container Store, I got an introduction to a store that I will be visiting quite frequently in the future.

Looking for something a little bit of country?  This Kimchi Blue Scalloped Belt will do the trick.  It’s slim, detailed, and tan colored.  Like the model who is wearing it above, it stands out perfectly against dark colored jeans or dark colored clothing.  I have not had the chance to wear mine yet, but I am definitely am excited to.  Paired with my Steve Madden cowboy boots, I know I will have the right amount of countriness in my outfit.  Make sure to note that this belt will most likely fit around your waist, not your hips.  I was able to find this priced at $9.99 in-store, $16.99 online, $24.00 original.

Cute print.  Pretty color.  Nicely hidden pockets.  Perfect dress, right?  Wrong.  Everytime I am at Urban Outfitters, I am always drawn to this Kimchi Blue Knit Print Shirt Dress.  I love the style of the dress with its empire waist and minimal detailing.  Nice and simple.  Maybe it’s because of this that I am hypnotized into trying this dress on every time I am in store.  However, once I slip the dress over my head, I come back to reality.  It might be due to the size I choose or just simply me, but the feelings I have for this dress when it hangs on the rack does not translate into the same feelings I have when it hangs on my body, which is a major disappointment.  According to my shopping mate, the dress “looks like it is made from heavy fabric and just sags” on me.  If you do decide to listen to the postive reviews and buy this dress, just keep in mind that there is an elastic band in the back portion of the empire waist.  This allows you to slip the dress on.  However, either it was the location of the elastic band or the length of it, but I felt a bit uncomfortable trying to squeeze through this dress to get it on.  You do not want to buy a larger size (unless it looks flattering) to avoid this problem, but just know that the problem did exist for me.  Instead, I would make sure to choose the perfect size to make the dress fit nicely even if it means going a size up or down a size.  I wish you better looks with this dress than I had.

In store, this dress was on sale for $19.99, but online it is on sale for $39.99 (origianlly $58.00).  The dress also comes in three different prints: black ditsy, mauve feather (pictured), and navy thistles.

As much as I want to expand my wardrobe, I do have to have good judgment on what to buy and what not to buy.  One case in point is the Rendez-Vous by Paul & Joe Sister Voile Top at Urban Outfitters.  As nice as this top looked when I picked it up, it did not flatter my appearance at all.  The shirt was loose fitting and that was the problem.  From the front, it looked as though I could pull off the shirt.  The org flower print looked nice and the shirt was not too dramatic.  (The shirt also comes in another print — pink flowers.)  However, once I turned to the side, the shirt gave me that pregnant look, which I was not.  I guess that’s what is meant by the “oversized fit” description online.  The top also was somewhat translucent, which I tend to avoid unless the shirt is simply amazing.  In the end, I hung this shirt back up and moved on without any regrets.

In store, this top is on sale for $19.99, but the sale price online is $54.99 (originally $78.00).

Winter is coming to an end and spring is just around the corner.  What better way to celebrate the change of seasons than with a new dress!  Perfect for this occasion is the AE Knit Party Dress from American Eagle.  Online and in person, this dress looks very nice.  I think the print adds a little something extra to the dress otherwise it ends up looking like AE dresses of the past.  The dress has shoulder ties, which is a bit different from a regular dress, and there is a deep V in the front and the back.  For me, the bottom of the dress came down to just above my knees so it was not too short or too long, just right.  In addition, the dress fit comfortably and was soft, but the $34.50 retail price does not justify itself.  I’m just going to wait for summertime to buy this dress when I know the price will drop.
