Winter is coming to an end and spring is just around the corner. What better way to celebrate the change of seasons than with a new dress! Perfect for this occasion is the AE Knit Party Dress from American Eagle. Online and in person, this dress looks very nice. I think the print adds a little something extra to the dress otherwise it ends up looking like AE dresses of the past. The dress has shoulder ties, which is a bit different from a regular dress, and there is a deep V in the front and the back. For me, the bottom of the dress came down to just above my knees so it was not too short or too long, just right. In addition, the dress fit comfortably and was soft, but the $34.50 retail price does not justify itself. I’m just going to wait for summertime to buy this dress when I know the price will drop.

Cute, right? That’s exactly what I though as I browsed online at AmericanEagle.com and came across the Women’s AE Floral Vines Halter Cami. It currently retails for $24.50, but I’d say give it several weeks and the price may start to drop (as with most items). I actually went in-store to try this top on to make a mental note on my size in case the price dropped dramatically online or if any good discounts codes were available. I normally wear small to medium (and sometimes even large) depending on the type of shirt, the material of the shirt, and overall what size looks best on me. With this top, I opted to go for a small as the material was loose and not clingy. It is light and, in my opinion, great for spring/summer. The only negative comment I have about this shirt is the bottom white portion is a bit too see through/sheer for my liking. I would not say that it is a major reason not to buy the top, but, in my case, it was reason enough not to get it at the current price in addition to getting 30% off from A’s AE All-Access Pass Savings Reward. (It’s tough economic times so I might as well be getting something good for what I’m paying for.)
As a side note, AE.com does have another version of this top in solid colors without the floral print, the Women’s AE Halter Cami. The current retail price of the solid halter cami is $19.50 and it comes in Harbor Blue, Yellow Shine, Wild Violet, or Black. Personally, the price is a bit on the high side for just a solid halter cami and I think the floral print is what makes this top a bit more special from any other halter cami tops.
UPDATE:
The solid version of this shirt is now on clearance for $14.95! However, only Black (Large) and Harbor Blue (Large and Xlarge) are available.
Unfortunately, the floral version of this shirt is no longer available. It might still be instore though.
